- Could you tell us what made you want to try Ourtime? How were you feeling at that time in your life?
- Being on my own, there are certain pleasures that aren’t quite the same, nights out, holidays, etc.. You can be comfortable in your own skin but still want shared experiences. Watching on your own, a romantic movie is just a movie.
- How would you describe your initial experience with the website or app?
- You need patience. A lot of people don’t respond to likes or even messages – and that may simply be because they’ve jojned up but not subscribed. But eventually, someone will respond. I’ve been in and out a few times, met three very nice members, and though no lasting relationship has come yet, I have made one really good friend and spent some pleasant times with the other two.
- On a date, what makes you think that it’s “the start of something real”?
- The chance to talk face to face with no pre-conceived idea of where it will lead and yet you find you’re still talking an hour later. We all look for a spark but it shines brightest when you’re not looking for it.
- What would you say to encourage hesitant singles over 50 to try out dating sites?
- Most people I know are already in couples. Somehow it seems harder to meet singles at our age, but most of us don’t want to spend the rest of our lives without someone to share it with. So, dating sites offer opportunities. Where’s the harm?
Great on your own. Better together.
